I come from a large family. Being the oldest girl, part of my responsibility was to help care for my younger siblings. One of my favorite things to do with my little sisters was fix their hair and do their nails, especially on Sunday mornings! My love for hair art grew over the years as I continued perfecting my skills on my sisters! I am so excited to be able to do hair and eventually nails, waxing and makeup for my clients here On Broadway Salon!
I love working in the beauty industry. The feeling you get when you make someone feel beautiful is indescribable. Everyone is beautiful, sometimes it just takes a little pampering to help him or her see it, and a smile is always beautiful! That is why I love being a beauty artist. I love to see people smile. I am not perfect, but I will try my hardest to enlarge your smile!
When I am not at work you will find me with my family. I enjoy every free moment I get (extremely rare) spending time with them, making memories. They were the ones who got me to where I am in my career and they keep pushing me to reach my potential! I couldn’t do it without them or the Lord! Like I previously stated, I come from a large family; so there is never a dull moment at home! I also love to spend time ministering in whichever church the Lord has me in at the time. I love singing specials and helping out in the children’s ministry! Without Him I am useless!
I have 3 family pets. I have a black Lab, Rox, a Cavalier King Charles named Piper and an affectionate, introverted cat, named Allie! I love animals! I even do my pets nails and trim their fur when needed! The dogs are not so partial to receiving their FREE pupicures! I haven’t any idea why! It’s free!
My first job was at a preschool, as a classroom teacher. I love children, they are so much fun! Every day is an adventure with children. I love watching them learn and grow – and am always amazed at how quickly they grow. I worked at the school for a few years and then my family moved here to East Tennessee. I quickly applied at an amazing preschool in Maryville and was hired. I loved being able to fix the children’s hair in my classroom, which got me truly thinking about getting my Cosmetology license. Teaching is an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything; it was a great stepping-stone to my future and I met so many great people along the way.
While attending Cosmetology School, I worked part time at a bakery here in Maryville, Kupkaties – from working with customers to baking- it was a great experience. I loved decorating cakes and helping cater weddings…I guess you could say it’s edible beauty! But sadly enough, that beauty doesn’t last long!
Over the next few years, I look forward to developing and maintaining a wonderful clientele – hopefully including you! I love to learn, listen and grow, both personally and professionally. At first, the services I offer will be somewhat traditional – however I will eventually add nails, waxing, lash extensions and hair extensions and makeup to my service menu! I love doing every aspect of beauty, but know it is important to take it one aspect at a time, so keep your eyes out for those services to be offered in the near future.
